Chicago Med Season 8 has been full of non-stop action and nail-biting medical scenarios, so it's no surprise we've had quite a few One Chicago crossover moments this season. The latest of these fun, "Look who it is!" moments came in Chicago Med Season 8, Episode 8, titled "Everyone's Fighting a Battle You Know Nothing About," when both Chicago Fire and Chicago P.D. characters visited Gaffney Medical Center. We get our first crossover moment when Justin receives a surprise visit from Chicago Fire's Blake Gallo (Alberto Rosende). Gallo tells Justin that he was in the neighborhood and wanted to pop in to say hello on his first day. "What's up, Gallo!" Dr. Will Halstead (Nick Gehlfuss) says to the firefighter. "Clearly, you two know each other." Blake and Justin fist-bump like total pals, indicating that the Chicago Med newcomer is no stranger to saving lives. The best buds are broken up by a patient arriving, but it's clear that Justin will be a prominent new character in future episodes.
The eighth season of Chicago Med, an American medical drama television series with executive producer Dick Wolf, and producers Michael Brandt, Derek Haas, Peter Jankowski, Andrew Schneider and Diane Frolov, was ordered on February 27, 2020.[1] The season premiered on September 21, 2022.[2]
Although the episode paints Wheelan as clearly in the wrong, it also spotlights his reasoning for killing the Black teen during a routine traffic stop. Wheelan says he feared for his life after three decades of seeing terrible things while on the job and is rightfully cautious. When Atwater shows him the raw footage of the shooting, Wheelan thinks the video is altered before conceding that he murdered the young man.
-Shoutout to Dr. Nellie Cuevas, who continues to come into her own. She has two patients on this episode and knows exactly where to turn for support when needed. She has the makings of a phenomenal psychiatrist.
The action continues at Gaffney Chicago Medical Center when Chicago Med season 8 premiered in September on NBC. Once again the beloved Dick Wolf show will anchor the Wednesday night lineup of Chicago series.
The title of the episode is "Know When to Hold and When to Fold" and here's the episode description: "A documentary crew visits Med to film Marcel and Abrams' groundbreaking surgery; Archer refuses to ask for help for his kidney issues despite the staff's unrelenting kindness; Halstead starts to develop feelings for a co-worker."

Chicago Med season 8 kicks off on Wednesday, September 21, at 8 pm ET/PT on NBC. The show serves as the starting point for One Chicago Wednesdays; it will be followed by Chicago Fire at 9 pm ET/PT and Chicago P.D. at 10 pm ET/PT.
NBC posted a list of current Chicago Med cast members (opens in new tab) as of June 2022, and they did indeed return for the season 8 premiere. However, the season finale revealed that changes were coming to the Chicago Med staff.
Variety (opens in new tab) reports that Guy Lockard and Sarah Rafferty exited the show in the season premiere, though their stories will remain open in case they want to return at a later date. Yaya DaCosta returns as April Sexton.

Unfortunately, Jo does not survive her gunshot wound and is pronounced dead at Med. This absolutely guts Dr. Scott, who blames himself since the bullet he shot at their assailant went through him and into Jo. Dr. Scott tells Ms. Goodwin (S. Epatha Merkerson) that he killed the woman he loves and eventually quits Med by the end of the episode. Variety confirmed after Episode 1 aired that Guy Lockard would not be returning to "Chicago Med." Dr. Scott's story is officially over, as showrunners revealed his planned arc was complete.
The fire also puts Dr. Asher in the hospital, as the smoke inhalation triggered a condition in her lungs caused by her prior heroin use. When she was an addict, the heroin she injected was likely cut with talcum powder, so when she used the talc formed an embolus that went into her lungs. She's been living with these for years, but it wasn't until the smoke inhalation that they were discovered, as they triggered interstitial lung disease and caused inflammation. It's a lot of medical jargon, we know. Steroids worked their magic, and Dr. Asher was extubated and was set to have her lungs cleared. This could be setting up another romantic season between Will and Hannah, based on her running into a burning building for him and him constantly being by her side during her hospitalization. By the way, the fire that caused all this trauma Yea, it was started by Vas-COM pusher Jessa Rinaldi (Angela Wong Carbone), who was trying to kill Will before the trial. But thanks to Kim Burgess (Marina Squerciati) from "Chicago P.D.," the arsonist is behind bars now. 59ce067264
